The beginning: Nonno Francesco (Grandpa Francesco)
Nonno Francesco, when just twenty-four years old (he had already been appointed "Cavaliere di Vittorio Veneto" for having stood out in the First World War), is involved by Countess Baracca, owner of a winery in S. Potito di Lugo (RA), to start the intermediation activities in the wine market. The Countess was struck by Nonno Francesco's good negotiation skills, as well as his deep knowledge of the local agricultural and wine reality. For this reason, she buys him a bicycle and gives him the task of getting in touch with the local producers of wine and must, looking for the best qualities to be processed and offered to the local market.
Papà Corrado (Daddy Corrado)
Papà Corrado joins his father Francesco after the World War II.
After finishing his accounting studies, Corrado begins to work with his father Francesco to establish the first links of their business network in the most important Italian production regions. Gradually, the two became a reference point for the major Italian wine bottlers and traders, thanks to their expert and professional support.
Andrea Verlicchi
After obtaining his Secondary School Diploma as Agricultural Expert, Andrea Verlicchi follows the footsteps of Grandfather Francesco and Father Corrado. After approaching the sector by running the family winery for a few years, in 1987 he began to devote himself full time to the activity of consultancy. In fact, over the years, the work in this sector has evolved to the point of requiring the professional to be not only an intermediary, but above all an empathetic and expert consultant.
Impex is born
Thanks to the experience acquired, in 1996 Andrea Verlicchi founds Impex in Lugo (RA) and expands his team. Next to him come skilled and experienced professionals from the enological, commercial and technical point of view. Thus, it is sure Impex offers to the market the best brokers and consultants, ready to actively cooperate with all its customers.
Today
Impex is one of the most important companies operating in the wine industry. We support the customer in every commercial aspect of the distribution of quality products, such as musts and wines, whether bulk or bottled, conventional or organic. We do it with a method based on a refined process of product selection, on a consultancy supported by accurate market quotations and on a 100 years long passion.
